* Basic Geometry *

Point: A point has no length, breadth or thickness.

Line: A line has no fixed length and no breadth or thickness.

Line Segment: A straight line with two end points is called a line segment.

Ray: A line segment extended endlessly in one direction is called a ray.

Defferent Types of Lines

Horizontal line:
Vertical lines:
Slanting lines:
Parallel lines:
Wavy lines:
Curved lines:
Intersecting lines:

Plane figures:
Triangle, Quadrilateral, Rectangle, Square and Circle are some of the common plane figures. Plane figures has two things-
sides and vertices.

Vertex: the meeting point of two line segments is called vertex.

Triangle: A simple closed plane figure with is surrounded by three line segments is called a triangle.

Quadrilateral: a figure bounded by four line segments is called a quadrilateral.
( A quadrilateral has 4 side, 4 vertices, 4 angles.)

Rectangle: A quadrilateral in which opposite sides are equal to each other and each angle is equal to to 90 degree is called a rectangle.
( All angles of a rectangle are also equal.)

Square: A rectangle having all side of the same length is called a square.
( All angles of a square are equal to each other.)

Circle: A circle is a closed plane figure. it has no vertex. It is formed by curved line. The mid point inside a circle is called the centre of the circle.
( It has no side and no vertices.)

Solid figures:
An object that occupies space is called a solid.
The outside of a solid is called its surface.

Cube: In a cube all sides are equal in length.
A cube has:
12 sides (edges),
6 faces,
8 vertices.

Cuboid: In a cuboid opposite sides are equal in length.
A cuboid has:
12 sides,
6 faces and opposite surface are equal in shapes and sizes.
8 vertices.

Cylinder: A cylinder has two plane surfaces and one curved face.
It has two edges but no vertex.
Con: A con has one plane face and one curved face.
It has one vertex.

Sphere: A sphere has only one curved face.
It does not have any side or vertex.

Nature of language* Language is made up of sentences, sentences are made up of words and words are made up of basic sounds. In this way, sentences, words and basic sounds are the parts of language. In grammar, their parts and endings are studied and discussed. Therefore, grammar is dependent on language.
