BODMAS

Chapter:5 Simplification
Numerical Expressions
A combination of numbers connected by one or more of the symbol +, -, ×, ÷ and of, is called numerical expression.

BODMAS stands for Bracket, of, Division, Multiplication, Addition and Subtraction
First work out Bracket. - ( ) (B)
then perform - of (O)
then division - ÷ (D)
after that multiplication - × (M)
next addition - + (A)
at the end subtraction. - - (S)

Use of Brackets
What are the Types of Brackets ?
Ans: There are four types of bracket.
Bar / Vinculum. __
Round brackets / Bracket. ( ),
Curly Brackets or Braces { },
Square brackets or Big brackets [ ]

(किसी दिए गए Simplification का Solution करने के लिए सबसे पहले कोष्ठक(Bracket), फिर का(Of), फिर भाग(Division), फिर गुणा(Multiply), फिर जोड़
(Addition), अंत में घटाव(Subtraction) करते हैं )

Example:
Simplify 15-[20÷{6-2(8-5-2)}]

= 15-[20÷{6-2(8-5-2)}]
= 15-[20÷{6-2×1}]
= 15-[20÷4]
= 15-5
= 10
