Introduction of grammar

English grammar is the collection of rules that instruct us to read, write and speak correctly.

* English grammar is divided into five parts.
1. Orthography 
2. Etymology
3. Syntax
4. punctuation 
5. prosody

1. Orthography
Orthography is a branch of grammar which teaches us about different type of letters.
(ऑर्थोग्राफी)वर्ण विचार ग्रामर का वह भाग है जिसके अंतर्गत विभिन्न प्रकार के वर्णों का अध्ययन किया जाता है।

Example:- alphabet, vowel and consonants letters.

2. Etymology
Etymology is that the part of grammar under which different types of words are studied.
(एटीमोलॉजी) शब्द विचार ग्रामर का वह भाग है जिसके अंतर्गत विभिन्न प्रकार के शब्दों का अध्ययन किया जाता है

Example:- Study of words in detail through parts of speech.( Noun, pronoun, adjective, verb, adverb, preposition, conjunction and  interjection)

3. Syntax:- 
Syntex is the form of grammar under which different types of sentences are studied.
(सिनटैक्स) वाक्य विचार ग्रामर का वह भाग है जिसके अंतर्गत विभिन्न प्रकार के वाक्यों का अध्ययन किया जाता है।

Example:-kinds of sentence, part of sentence, formation of sentence.

4. punctuation:-
punctuation is a branch of grammar which makes us learn about different type of signs and symbols.
(पंक्चुएशन) विराम चिन्ह व्याकरण की एक शाखा है जो हमें विभिन्न प्रकार के संकेतों और प्रतीकों के बारे में सिखाती है।

 Example:- Full-stop ( . ),   Interrogation ( ? ),
Coma ( ,),  Colin ( : ),  Semi colon ( ; ), exclamation marks ( ! ),   Colon dash (: –),
Brackets ( ), [ ], { }

5. prosody :-
Prosody is a branch of grammar which makes us learn about different types of poetry.
(प्रोसोडी) छंद विचार व्याकरण की वह शाखा है जो हमें काव्य के अलंकारों, छंद और चौपाइयों आदि का अध्ययन कराती है।

Example :-
study the ornaments, verses and quadruplets of poetry.

Tense

Nature of language* Language is made up of sentences, sentences are made up of words and words are made up of basic sounds. In this way, sentences, words and basic sounds are the parts of language. In grammar, their parts and endings are studied and discussed. Therefore, grammar is dependent on language.
